Targeted Organizing Project Request Form
The goal of VEA Targeted Organizing Project grant is to assist locals (the term “local” to include all local associations, multi-local UniServ Unit Councils, SVEA and VEA-R and classifications of members within those “locals”) in complimenting current local funding in support of “amplifying” organizing campaigns and activities that ultimately help locals attract, recruit, and retain members and create powerful local associations through the building of organizing culture and capacity.
A key component of this grant will be targeted membership growth. Which worksites or groups of workers will you target for membership growth, and how will your existing membership be involved in recruitment?
Successful applicants for VEA TOP grants will prioritize continuous, member-led engagement through organizing and targeted membership growth. This doesn’t mean we won’t fund social events or swag, only that you must prove how those tactics will result in membership growth and organizing wins for your local.
This grant must be submitted by a local president, member of the executive board, or chair of the organizing committee. The grant proposal must also have been submitted for vetting and approval to the executive board, the organizing committee, and your local UniServ Director.
