2019 VEA Recruiting and Retaining Teachers of Color: Call for Presenters

The Virginia Education Association will host the Recruiting and Retaining Teachers of Color Conference, a convocation of educators and policymakers, which will focus specifically on developing partnerships between Virginia school divisions, college and university teacher preparation programs and VEA local Associations. The goal of these partnerships is to inform policy and promote greater diversity in hiring practices in K-12 education throughout the Commonwealth. The target audience for this summit is college and university students, higher education faculty, staff and administrators, K-12 teachers and administrators, human resource personnel, local school boards, community organizations, state legislators, Virginia Department of Education staff, and local VEA affiliates. The conference will be held February 15-16, 2019 at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. For additional information, please contact Dr. Antoinette M.
