Jump Start 2023 Registration Grant Application

Jump Start 2023 Registration Grant Application

VEA is presenting NEA Jump Start, a workshop for candidates pursuing their initial National Board Certification. This year, Jump Start will be held Thursday through Saturday, July 13-15, 2022 at the Richmond Marriott Short Pump in Glen Allen, Virginia.

Candidates pursuing National Board Certification benefit from the supports such as those offered by the VEA including Jump Start, candidate cohort groups, and one-on-one mentoring from qualified Professional Learning Facilitators (PLFs). As VEA works to increase the number and diversity of NBCTs in Virginia so that more students have access to accomplished and effective teaching, we are finding ways to support candidates and to break down barriers of access.

A limited number of grants will be awarded to qualified applicants to cover the costs of attending Jump Start this summer including registration and lodging. Registration includes a continental breakfast and lunch each day of Jump Start. Grant recipients will be responsible for their own transportation and dinner expenses.

ELIGIBILITY:

--applicants must be a current VEA member in good standing
--applicants must be eligible to pursue National Board Certification
--applicants must be pursuing their initial National Board Certification (current or previous NBCTs are not eligible)

REQUIREMENTS & EXPECTATIONS:
